| PJ Harvey ya da tam adıyla, Polly Jean Harvey, ilk albümü `Dry`ı Şubat 92`de çıkarmıştı. Albüm sadece İngiltere`de değil, dünyanın birçok ülkesinde büyük beğeni kazandı. Harvey, Amerika`da Rolling Stone dergisi tarafından `En İyi Şarkı Yazarı` ve `En İyi Yeni Kadın Şarkıcı` seçildi. 1993`te `Rid Of Me` adlı ikinci albümünü yayınlayan PJ Harvey, dünya turnesi sayesinde daha fazla izleyiciyle buluştu. 1995 tarihli `To Bring You My Love` albümünde PJ Harvey vokallerin sahibi olmasının yanı sıra, gitar perküsyon ve tüm keyboardları da çalıyordu. Bu albümle birlikte Mercury Müzik Ödülü`ne ve iki Grammy`e aday oldu. Rolling Stone dergisi, PJ Harvey`e `1995 Yılın Sanatçısı` ödülünü verdi. Başka müzisyenlerin albümlerinde de konuk sanatçı olarak yer alan PJ Harvey`in, özellikle Nick Cave ve Tricky ile düet yaptığı parçalar çok beğenildi. Hal Hartley`in `The Book Of Life` filmindeki `Mary Magdalene` rolüyle ilk oyunculuk deneyimini gerçekleştiren sanatçının oyunculuk dışında başka yetenekleri de bulunuyor. Örneğin İngiltere`de galerilerde heykel sergileri açması gibi... PJ Harvey`in beşinci albümünü adı ise `Is This Desire?`... Dorset ve Londra`da Polly Jean Harvey, Flood ve Head tarafından kaydedilen, on iki PJ Harvey şarkısının bulunduğu albümün ilk 45`liğinin adı ise `A Perfect Day Elise` idi. Polly Jean Harvey, 2000 yılında `Stories From The City, Stories From The Sea` adlı rock köklerine geri döndüğü albümünü çıkardı. Albümde yer alan 11 parçadaki tüm performanslar ve prodüksiyon Polly Jean, Rob Ellis ve Mick Harvey tarafından kotarıldı. Ayrıca albümdeki 11 parçanın onu Victor Van Vugt tarafından Fallout Shelter`da mikslendi. Albüme Radiohead`den Thom Yorke da ciddi bir katkı yaptı. Bir parçada PJ`le düet yapan Yorke, diğer iki parçada da geri vokallerde yer aldı. Hatta bu ekibe Laika vokalist ve gitaristi Margaret Fiedler da katıldı.
